About Us
The London School of Styling came about when in summer 2012 a group of leading fashion stylists, hair and make up and photography creatives all London based and experts in their field decided to share their knowledge, with the aim of helping the next wave of new creative talent come through. As well as working for over 20 years in the fashion industry with various celebrity and style clients they all separately taught at top Fashion Schools such as The London College of Fashion, Istituto Marangoni and Central St Martin’s.
Currently the school offers one day workshops where the students work in a professional photo studio or location setting to a real industry brief and produce images with a leading industry creative team for their portfolios. In a rapid expanding market where creatives start out collaborating with other people at the same level, polished images from a shoot with a top photographer and creative team go along way to transforming your portfolio; or make the perfect start to one.
We also offer a part time diploma course in fashion styling. This consists of a total of seven full day 7 hours classes spread over three months for people that already have a busy life or career but are looking to make the move in to fashion. The course is structured so you have four shoot classes all teaching you different types of styling (personal styling, editorial, men’s styling and commercial styling). The diploma also offers three theory classes for feedback, style analysis and teaching you how and where to find work and give you a contacts list. The course comes with a diploma certificate. The course is also suitable for stylist’s that feel they have come up against a wall and need some career guidance, help with networking, portfolio or website development, plus the fact the student will leave with a fresh set of four very different shoots for their book.
We run regular networking evenings where anybody that has attended one of our courses or workshops is welcome to attend for free and meet and learn from leading industry creatives. Students of the school also receive a weekly jobs page emailed to them where they can apply for fashion jobs and work placements from our contacts. Feel free to get in contact if you are interested to study as a fashion stylist, hair and make up artists or Art Director, we have students from all levels from fashion graduates to people with no fashion experience but with a creative flair and a curiosity for fashion.
